Our friend Ninfa recently returned from a pilgrimage to Tibet. Already a keen observer of things, Ninfa seems to be in a heightened state of spiritual awareness. At the ruins at Mitla outside Oaxaca, Ninfa was descending into one of the tombs when she noticed the earings being worn by another tourist. They were from Tibet. The two of them embraced like long lost friends, then struck up a long conversation about their experiences in Tibet. The other woman was Swiss and was beaming just as widely

I’ve finally done it! I’ve successfully reverse engineered Taqueria El Favorito’s (fresh) green salsa, the best salsa I’ve ever encountered in all my travels. Now let me tell you, I’ve eaten Mexican food in Mexico, Portugal (please don’t even ask), France (same goes for here), Italy (and here), Venezuela, Arizona, New Mexico, and in hundreds of places across California, and I’ve decided that the best (fresh) green salsa comes right out of my own hometown, Santa Rosa, CA, at Taqueria El Favorito

People are always asking me to blog more often, well here i go, I searched for some information on ’shrimp curry’.
The favorite meal of my childhood, I’d ask for curry at each birthday; Mom simmered raisins and lamb in a fragrant stew all day long, then served it surrounded by a … t least 10 condiments - shrimp chips (to suck heat from your tongue), bananas, coconut, chopped peanuts, onion, chutney, green pepper, tomato….
