L and I spent most of Friday packing for the Delhi leg of our trip and visiting the famous Taj Mahal Hotel. Built near the Gateway in 1903 by the TaTa family it is rated as one of the top 5 hotels in the world. It was incredible. Rate rooms start at $500 per night. In the hotel were a number of very expensive shops and restaurants. We tried to explore more, but security was everywhere. One side of the lobby led us to the Indian shops. Here L had the time of her life. She spent nearly 2 hours in

Today I used Technorati to find more info on ‘katsu curry’ so I could post it into ‘Cooking recipes’. And this is one of the many results I found:
Not too long ago I came across a post about curry gyoza. I had never even though about filling gyoza with left over curry. It sounded like a great idea and I just had to try it. Gyoza are Japanese dumplings. They are generally filled with ground meat, vegetables and seasonings. The dumplings can be boiled, steamed, deep fried or shallow fried and steamed. I prefer to shallow fry and steam as you get to enjoy both the crispy fried side and the soft steamed side. Gyoza are typically dipped in a

Afternoon coffee with Jonathan (photographer) and Kendra at Raconte-moi la terre Spring has arrived, and with perfect timing. Jonathan had last week off from school (but still studied and worked in the clinic one day) and I was able to finaggle working from home for five days, which means I only went into the office one day out of the past nine. Yeah - it was wonderful. And I was able to get together with my friend Kendra a few times during the week. Today we finally got the four of us togethe

Rendang tok is a combination of all the herbs we can find in our Malaysias garden. Cekur, daun limau purut, lengkuas, serai, daun kunyit and all combine together with the beef and other
